Pin Setting Cam The pin setting cam`s function is to slow down the speed at which the pins are moving as they are being set on first ball or respotted on second ball. There is one of these cams on each side of the frame at the pit end of the pinsetter. This cam changes the path of the string during the down motion which slows the travel of the pins.
