Chicago Fair 10 years in a row! Djena was the granddaughter<br />
of Minnesota financier Jim Lee. She grew this tomato in<br />
Minnesota, and in 1929 gave plants to Reverend Morrow, then<br />

80 days. This heirloom was introduced to Seed Savers<br />
Exchange by the late Dr. John Wyche, who at one time<br />
owned the Cole Brothers Circus and used the manure of<br />
elephants to fertilize his heritage gardens. The 1 lb fruit is<br />
solid and smooth; their color is a glowing tangerine-orange<br />
that always stands out in the kitchen or off the vine. One of<br />
the best heirloom orange types for market, with its smooth<br />

80 days. Uniform, golden-orange globes are so smooth<br />
and uniform they look like a commercial variety, but these<br />
have a rich, full, tomato flavor that is missing in modern<br />
varieties, being both sweet and tangy. Productive vines yield<br />
lots of 8 to 10-oz. fruit that excel at markets; great for fresh<br />
use and sauce. This tomato was preserved by the late Ben<br />
