Display your parking permit at wildlife areas<br />
A free annual permit comes with the purchase <strong>of</strong> an<br />
annual hunting, Combination, Pioneer <strong>and</strong> Sports Pac<br />
license <strong>and</strong> Habitat Conservation Stamp. All other wildlife<br />
area users need to purchase a permit: daily permits ($7) <strong>and</strong><br />
annual permits ($22) are available where fishing <strong>and</strong><br />
hunting licensesare sold <strong>and</strong> on the ODFW website<br />
(www.dfw.state.or.us).<br />

Hunter Ethics<br />
As a hunter, you are responsible to<br />
adopt <strong>and</strong> follow a personal code<br />
<strong>of</strong> ethics that reflects your values<br />
<strong>and</strong> your respect for wildlife, hunting<br />
<strong>and</strong> pass on the sport <strong>of</strong> hunting to<br />
those who come after you. Remember<br />
the following points to help ensure the<br />
future <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oregon</strong>’s hunting heritage.<br />
Respect L<strong>and</strong>owners<br />
• Ask for permission to hunt well<br />
before you plan on hunting.<br />
• Leave all gates the way you<br />
find them.<br />
• Follow all l<strong>and</strong>owner restrictions.<br />
• Offer to share part <strong>of</strong> your harvest<br />
with the l<strong>and</strong>owner.<br />
Respect the Resource<br />
• Leave the l<strong>and</strong> better than you<br />
found it.<br />
• Adhere to fair chase rules.<br />
• Know your capabilities <strong>and</strong><br />
limitations as a marksman.<br />
• Harvest no more than you will use,<br />
<strong>and</strong> take care <strong>of</strong> what you take.<br />
• Abide by game laws <strong>and</strong><br />
regulations.<br />

the <strong>Oregon</strong> State Police at<br />
1-800-452-7888.<br />
Respect Others<br />
• Follow safe firearm h<strong>and</strong>ling<br />
practices <strong>and</strong> insist your hunting<br />
partners do the same.<br />
• Know what is beyond your target.<br />
Shot pellets can be fatal to both<br />
people <strong>and</strong> dogs.<br />
• Don’t interfere with another<br />
persons hunt.<br />
• If mentoring a youth hunter, be<br />
sure to pass on safe, responsible<br />
<strong>and</strong> ethical knowledge <strong>and</strong> skills.<br />
• Wear blaze orange when hunting.<br />
