Check-in <strong>and</strong> blind selection will be held<br />
1-1/2 hours before shooting time (see<br />
page 13) . Permit holders not present at<br />
check-in time forfeit their permit for the<br />
day . A free drawing for st<strong>and</strong>-by hunters<br />
will be held at the same time to fill blinds<br />
left vacant by permit holders who do not<br />

season only on Saturdays, Sundays,<br />
Wednesdays <strong>and</strong> holidays including<br />
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New<br />
Year’s Day, Veterans’ Day <strong>and</strong> Martin<br />
Luther King, Jr . Day .<br />
■ All Other Units at Fern Ridge WA<br />
including Fern Ridge Lake: Open to<br />
public use daily <strong>and</strong> open to hunting during<br />
authorized game bird <strong>and</strong> game mammal<br />
seasons . Reminder: Area is closed to<br />
all goose hunting except for Sept . Canada<br />
goose season . Lane Co . <strong>and</strong> U .S . Army<br />
Corps <strong>of</strong> Engineers parks are closed to<br />
hunting <strong>and</strong> the discharge <strong>of</strong> firearms .<br />
KLAMATH<br />
Located six mi south <strong>of</strong> Klamath Falls<br />
between Hwy 97 <strong>and</strong> the Klamath Rvr<br />
which forms the western boundary . The<br />
area contains 2,400 acres in the Miller<br />
Isl<strong>and</strong> Unit . In addition to this area, there<br />
are 3 outlying units: Gorr Isl<strong>and</strong>, Shoal-<br />
water Bay <strong>and</strong> Sesti Tgawaals, which<br />
contain an additional 990 acres . Effective<br />
Jan . 1, 2013, a <strong>Wildlife</strong> Area Parking<br />
Permit is required to park on the WA (see<br />
page 26) . For hunter advisory information,<br />
please see page 26 .<br />
Gorr Isl<strong>and</strong> is located four mi south <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Miller Isl<strong>and</strong> Unit in the Klamath Rvr <strong>and</strong><br />
is only accessible by boat . Shoalwater<br />
<strong>Oregon</strong> <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Fish</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Wildlife</strong><br />
Bay <strong>and</strong> Sesti Tgawaals are both located<br />
on the west side <strong>of</strong> Upper Klamath Lk<br />
approximately 10 mi to the north <strong>and</strong> west<br />
<strong>of</strong> Klamath Falls . Phone: 541-883-5734 .<br />
In addition to general state <strong>and</strong> federal laws<br />
the following regulations apply to the area:<br />
■ No person shall possess or use any shot<br />
other than federally-approved nontoxic<br />
shot at any time, except for big game<br />
hunters using buckshot .<br />
■ Gorr Isl<strong>and</strong>, Shoalwater Bay <strong>and</strong><br />
Sesti Tgawaals: Open for public use<br />
daily . No permit required <strong>and</strong> open for<br />
hunting daily during authorized hunting<br />
seasons .<br />
■ Miller Isl<strong>and</strong> Unit: Effective Jan .1,<br />
2013, a <strong>Wildlife</strong> Area Parking Permit is<br />
required to park on the WA (see page<br />
26) . Open for public use from May 1<br />
– Jan . 31 . From February 1 – Apr . 30<br />
public use is restricted to public roads<br />
<strong>and</strong> parking lots to minimize disturbance<br />
to migrating waterfowl . Open for hunting<br />
during authorized game bird seasons .<br />
The Miller Isl<strong>and</strong> Unit is closed to all deer<br />
hunting .<br />
This area is divided into three subunits: A,<br />
B <strong>and</strong> C . Check in is required daily during<br />
all authorized seasons beginning Sept .<br />
1 . Entry permits shall be in possession<br />
while in the field; checkout is required .<br />
The check station is located under the<br />
area light on Miller Isl<strong>and</strong> Rd . The check<br />
station is staffed by ODFW personnel in<br />
the mornings from Oct . 6- Nov . 30, <strong>and</strong><br />
is a self-service station in the afternoons<br />
<strong>and</strong> all day after Nov . 30 .<br />
Hunting dates for Miller Isl<strong>and</strong> will be all<br />
days in Sept . except Sept . 8-9, which are<br />
reserved for youth upl<strong>and</strong> hunters, <strong>and</strong><br />
Sept . 22-23 which are reserved for youth<br />
waterfowl hunters (see page 22), Oct . 6*,<br />
7*, 9, 11, 13*, 15, 17, 21*, 23, 27, 29, 31,<br />
even-numbered days in Nov . <strong>and</strong> Dec .,<br />
<strong>and</strong> odd-numbered days in Jan .<br />
*Reservation hunting is in effect . All hunters<br />
must have in their possession a valid<br />
reservation permit to check into the area .<br />

on page 37 . Oct . 21 is reserved for youth<br />
hunters in subunits A <strong>and</strong> B only . Subunit<br />
C is open to all hunters on a first come, first<br />
served basis . See page 41 . The check<br />
station opens 1-1/2 hours before shooting<br />
time (see page 13) .<br />
All reservation holders must check in at<br />
least 1/2 hour before waterfowl shooting<br />
time . Upl<strong>and</strong> game bird shooting hours<br />
are from 8 a .m . until the close <strong>of</strong> waterfowl<br />
shooting hours .<br />
Reminder: Successful applicants must<br />
purchase their reservation permit before<br />
arriving at the WA . Licensing documents<br />
are not available at the WA .<br />
Throughout the pheasant season a<br />
pheasant release program will occur .<br />
These birds have been donated by<br />
Unlimited Pheasants <strong>and</strong> will be released<br />
into subunits A, B, <strong>and</strong> C . During the first<br />
week <strong>of</strong> pheasant season, pheasants will<br />
