<strong>and</strong> the left h<strong>and</strong> are entirely invisible <strong>and</strong> are behind the neck of the horse. The<br />

left foot is in low relief <strong>and</strong> is slightly visible beyond the right foot. He is wearing<br />

laced boots. The hair was cut short at the nape. He is beardless <strong>and</strong> young. The<br />

face does not have a portrait character, however, the facial features are clear. The<br />

pupils have been carved as if he is looking up. There are encrustations within the<br />

folds on his clothes. The figure has not been polished <strong>and</strong> tiny chisel marks are<br />

visible on the entire surface.<br />

Figure M2. Rearing horse (Fig. 77). Only the right fore <strong>and</strong> rear legs of<br />

the horse are in high relief. The left rear leg is in very low relief behind the right<br />

rear leg next to the column. The left fore leg was not shown. The<br />

disproportionateness of the head <strong>and</strong> the body of the horse is striking. There is no<br />

saddle on the horse. The thick tail of the horse extends beyond the central<br />

aedicula <strong>and</strong> into the previous one, next to the cornucopia of the Figure L. There<br />

are encrustations on the horse’s neck <strong>and</strong> under its chin. The figure has not been<br />

polished <strong>and</strong> tiny chisel marks are visible on the entire surface.<br />

Figure N. Lion beneath the right foreleg of the horse (Fig. 78), rearing<br />

towards it. All of the legs of the lion are shown, however the right forepaw is<br />

incomplete. The tail of the lion is curved up, <strong>and</strong> lies over the left side of the<br />

animal. Only the two forepaws of the lion are in the same aedicula as the hunter,<br />

the rest of it is at the next aedicula, in front of Figure P. The mane of the animal<br />

is not as detailed as the hairs of the figures, <strong>and</strong> gives the impression that it is<br />

unfinished. There are encrustations the lion’s left fore <strong>and</strong> rear legs. The figure<br />

has not been polished <strong>and</strong> tiny chisel marks are visible on the entire surface.<br />
