Multi High-Value Species Hatchery<br />
NLFROS serves mainly as research area for various<br />
The station conducted several researches / aquaculture technologies for brackishwater areas.<br />
techno-demo projects as follows:<br />
1. Rearing <strong>of</strong> megalopea to crablets<br />
2. TD on siganid fi ngerlings to marketable size<br />
using organic farming<br />
3. TD on mudcrab culture in aquasilvi pond<br />
4. TD on grouper in brackishwater pond<br />
5. Grow-out culture <strong>of</strong> P. vannamei<br />
The station has served 216 fi sh farmers <strong>and</strong> 4<br />
LGUs during the year.BFAR<br />

The agency conducts<br />
research on the<br />
production <strong>of</strong> various<br />
high value marine species<br />
such as Sea Cucumber,<br />
Abalone, Sea Urchin,<br />
Lobster <strong>and</strong> Blue Crab,<br />
<strong>and</strong> seaweeds such as<br />
Sargassum <strong>and</strong> Porphyra,<br />
with the construction <strong>of</strong><br />
Multi – Species Hatchery.<br />
The hatchery also<br />
renders technical<br />
assistance, lectures <strong>and</strong><br />
even trainings to fi eld<br />
<strong>and</strong> walk- in clients, <strong>and</strong><br />
on-the-job trainings for<br />
students.<br />
