In certain applications (e.g. render
removal, cavity wall insulation, chasing
for electrical wires) these power tools
can be used for long periods of time
and any reduction in weight or size
helps to make the job easier for the
user. DEWALT ® have made the units
smaller and lighter than before by
adjusting the position of the motor
and introducing the new chain drive
mechanism, which has less parts than
a gear drive, meaning these tools can
be used more comfortably for longer
periods of time.

Recent legislation has forced
manufacturers into developing safer
and more comfortable tools with
hammers being one of the key product
categories affected. To make this
new range safer DEWALT ® offers the
following optional features:
Complete Torque Control (CTC):
this is a 2 step clutch that defaults
to the low setting (40Nm) every
time the tool is unplugged which is
safer for the user as the drill is less
likely to snag on the low setting. If
the operator requires more torque
to complete the job (e.g. in heavier
applications where more torque is
required such as core drilling) the
user can manually select the high
torque setting of 80Nm.
The new DEWALT ® 6kg SDS-Max hammer

Active Vibration Control (AVC):
reducing vibration at source is
critical and the introduction of the
chain-drive mechanism (with less
moving parts) and the optimised
hammer mechanism helps to
do this.
Floating rear handle and
vibration dampened side handle:
this unique design helps to further
reduce vibration
DEWALT ® has led the way in reducing
vibration in its hammer range over the
past 10 years with the introduction
of Active Vibration Control and
continues to lead this market in
2010. What is most important is
to increase performance but at the
same time deliver less vibration.

better performance with less vibration.
