Public Hearing to consider amending Ordinance No. 265 by revising and<br />

adding to ARTICLE II, Sec. 201, Definitions, and ARTICLE XV,<br />

Sec. 1507, Uses Not Otherwise Included Within A Specific Use District,<br />

was called to order at 8:00 p.m. This amendment adds language to the<br />

Ordinance pertaining to cellular telephone antennas. Mr. Jay Herbst<br />

was present in support noting there had been a proposal for one in<br />

their neighborhood which created a great deal of concern. He stated<br />

the ordinance proposed is appropriate. There was discussion on what<br />

affect this might have on users of cellular telephones. Motion was<br />

made by Dickson, seconded by Smith and was unanimously supported to<br />

forward the proposed amendment to Ordinance 265 revising and adding to<br />

ARTICLE II, SEC. 201, Definitions, and ARTICLE XV, SEC. 1507, Uses Not<br />

Otherwise Included Within A Specific Use District, to the Township<br />

Board with recommendation for approval as advertised for public<br />

hearing tonight.<br />

Motion was made by Dickson, seconded by Little and was unanimously<br />

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING<br />

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the<br />

Planning Commission of the Township of Bloomfield, Oakland County,<br />

Michigan, on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 1985 at 8:00 p.m. at the Township<br />

Hall, 4200 Telegraph Road, in said Township for the purpose of<br />

amending Ordinance No. 265, being the Zoning Ordinance, and that same<br />

be amended by revising and adding to ARTICLE II, SEC. 201, Definitions,<br />

and ARTICLE XV, SEC. 1507, Uses Not Otherwise Included Within a<br />

Specific Use District, to read as follows:<br />

Revise ARTICLE II, SEC. 201, Definitions, by revising<br />

Subsection 21 to read:<br />

21. Essential Services: Is the erection, construction,<br />

alteration or maintenance by public utilities or<br />

municipal departments of underground, surface, or<br />

overhead gas, electrical, steam, fuel or water transmission<br />

or distribution system, collection, communication,<br />

supply or disposal system, including towers,<br />

poles, wires, mains, drains, sewers, pipes, conduits,<br />

cables, fire alarm and police call boxes, traffic<br />

signals, hydrants and similar equipment in connection<br />

herewith, but not including buildings which are<br />

necessary for the furnishing of adequate service by<br />

such facilities or governmental departments for the<br />

general health, safety, or welfare. Radio broadcasting<br />

and receiving towers and equipment structures<br />

used in cellular telephone systems are specifically<br />

excluded from the definition of essential services.
