A. Before Volcanic Eruptions:<br />
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES TO PRACTICE<br />
1. Keep calm.<br />
2. Evacu<strong>at</strong>e to a <strong>sa</strong>fer place.<br />
3. Stay away from/keep a <strong>sa</strong>fe distance away from the radius specified by the<br />
authorities.<br />
4. Wear thick clothes th<strong>at</strong> will protect from he<strong>at</strong> and masks to avoid bre<strong>at</strong>hing in<br />
poisonous air or dust.<br />
B. During the Volcanic Eruption:<br />
1. Keep calm. Do not panic.<br />
2. Move to a <strong>sa</strong>fe place. Have a ready means of transport<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
3. During ash showers. Cover your nose with a wet piece of cloth.<br />
4. People with respir<strong>at</strong>ory ailments should evacu<strong>at</strong>e outside the ash shower area.<br />
5. In between ash showers, ash on rooftops should be scraped.<br />
C. After Volcanic Eruption:<br />
Question:<br />
1. Stay in place until help from authorized agencies come.<br />
2. Report any strange occurrence of smoke, cracks on the ground, etc. to<br />
authorities.<br />
3. Clean utensils, pl<strong>at</strong>es, etc. from dust expelled from the volcano thoroughly<br />
before using them.<br />
