Supplement to art. 23 of RL No. 34/1981 concerning enforcement surveillance<br />
The fundamental town planning standards for the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region are embo<strong>di</strong>ed in Regional<br />
law 52/91 and subsequent amendments – “Regional standards for territorial and town planning”<br />
– that governs the use and zoning of the territory by means of the formation of a General Regional<br />
Territorial Plan (PTRG), and regional sector plans.<br />
These laws also contain the special provisions for the regional areas of particular importance in terms<br />
of countryside and the environment, and the areas set aside for parks or nature reserves. <strong>Provincia</strong>l<br />
coor<strong>di</strong>nation plans are drawn up at a provincial level.<br />
Each municipality in the region has its own general municipal town planning scheme, which is the<br />
basic instrument that covers all the provisions for the use of the municipality’s territory.<br />
Among other things, this is intended to guarantee the protection and reasonable use of natural resources<br />
as well as to protect assets of cultural, countryside, and environmental interest.<br />
Chapter X of the Regional Law is entitled “Provisions for the protection of natural Property”.
