heighten national security, and increase<br />

global competitiveness.<br />

Globalizing Japanese University Students'<br />

Experience: A New Japanese Initiative<br />

The session highlights a new grant program<br />

sponsored by the government of Japan that<br />

will significantly change the landscape of<br />

Japanese universities' international<br />

education and encourage Japanese students<br />

to study abroad. This session will discuss the<br />

size and purpose of the grants and illustrate<br />

the new direction of international education<br />

in Japanese universities. Presenters will<br />

provide information for institutions to<br />

collaborate with Japan.<br />

international and intercultural learning<br />

outcomes. Presenters share their<br />

intercultural skill needs, this session<br />

competencies in the workforce as well as<br />

implications for international education.<br />

including the steps and conditions for<br />
