Chapter 4: Performing an <strong>OpenEdge</strong> <strong>Installation</strong> in Windows<br />

• Only the values captured during the interactive install are stored in the<br />

response.ini file; there is no extraneous content<br />

• Dialog boxes that appear in the same order as presented in the online installation<br />

• A complete list of products installed<br />

The initial response.ini file is created when you run the Silent installation; it is never<br />

overwritten. If you re-run the Silent installation to add products to an existing 11.0<br />

installation, a new response.ini file is created <strong>and</strong> it is identified as response.ini.1.<br />

Any subsequent Silent installations will generate response.ini.2, response.ini.3,<br />

<strong>and</strong> so forth. These files will be saved to your installation directory.<br />
