Using the License Update utility<br />

To use the <strong>Product</strong> Update utility to update your license on a supported UNIX or<br />

Linux platform:<br />

1. Use the SHOWCFG utility to display the product configuration information stored in<br />

the <strong>OpenEdge</strong> Release 11.0 configuration file progress.cfg. See the “Using the<br />

SHOWCFG utility in Windows” section on page 192 for instructions.<br />

2. Change your current working directory to the directory where you installed<br />

<strong>OpenEdge</strong>.<br />

3. At the system prompt, type proupdt <strong>and</strong> press RETURN.<br />

4. When the Welcome dialog box appears, press RETURN. The <strong>Product</strong><br />

<strong>Configuration</strong> Data dialog box appears:<br />

5. Type your company name, the serial number, <strong>and</strong> the new control numbers<br />

Progress Software Corporation (PSC) supplies when you upgrade your license.<br />

6. Press ENTER. The Modified <strong>Product</strong> Information dialog box appears:<br />

Press ENTER again to return to the <strong>Product</strong> <strong>Configuration</strong> Data dialog box.<br />

7. Press CTRL+E to indicate that you are done.<br />

Note: You cannot press CTRL+E from the Serial Number field.<br />
