Table 9 gives a more complete picture <strong>of</strong> lend<strong>in</strong>g patterns from 1992 to <strong>2000</strong> by<br />
show<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> distribution <strong>of</strong> lend<strong>in</strong>g among <strong>the</strong> three major types <strong>of</strong> loans: FHA purchase,<br />
conventional purchase, and conventional ref<strong>in</strong>ance. While FHA also <strong>in</strong>sures ref<strong>in</strong>ance<br />
loans, <strong>the</strong>se loans accounted for just 4 percent <strong>of</strong> all loans over <strong>the</strong> study period. In<br />
<strong>Buffalo</strong> as a whole, conventional ref<strong>in</strong>ance loans were by far <strong>the</strong> most common loan type,<br />
account<strong>in</strong>g for 44 percent <strong>of</strong> lend<strong>in</strong>g. Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, lend<strong>in</strong>g was essentially split evenly<br />
between purchase loans and ref<strong>in</strong>ance loans.<br />
