These are outstanding examples that represent significant progressive
and geological processes of biological evolution and the interaction
between man and its natural environment.
It contains samples of the more important and significant natural
habitats, where important species of threatened animals or plants are
conserved
-Maintain a stable natural environment that supports the cultural and
socioeconomic development of the settlers.
-Guarantee the continuity of the agro-industrial activities that take
place in the adjoining areas of the provinces of Bocas del Toro and
Chiriquí, as well as in the Republic of Costa Rica.
-Take advantage of the tourism potential of the natural landscape, as
well as of its biological components.
