Objective One:
Catalyzing Sustainability of Protected Area
The presence of great biodiversity and endemic
relies in the Barú Volcano, as the highest point
in Panama (3.474 msnm), the weather depends
on both, Pacific and the Atlantic (Not
Carribbean) oceans. This mountain range is the
source of the main hydrographic basins of the
Caldera, Chiriquí, Chiriquí Viejo, David,
Cricamola, Piedra, Fonseca and Gariché Rivers,
which are considered the most important
within the country. This is located in the
Talamanca region of forests mount, tropical
forests (very humid) and virgin rivers, where
we find zones in the country that are very well
conserved.
