Exhibitors that know already that he died during the days ofour absence at the L.K.A., and now that we are at home again it is quite incredibly diffi culto believe that we will not see him anymore, and that he is not just around the back ofhis kennel run, or inside sleeping perhaps-at all events only out of site for the moment. to come trotting presently to his gait, jaunty, high headed, with that elegant action that is so impossible to forget. we lavc always been well aware that parting with Tragic would come hard when trrat inevitable day arrived, for we have travelled a good piece of the road together, and many an endearing landmark stand,q to his credit along the journey. perhaps his distemper days forged the.firstbond that gave his a di:fferent stanOing-to his fellows. He was so gallant then in his effort to live and fought so gamely throlugh the whole gamut of complications. Double pneumonia foilowed dyientery; for lb nights we never left him, and as a grand finale the curtain rang down with amaurois ind a rong period of total blindness followed. Dogs in general are remarkable for their trust and faith in their owners, but fi.onr that time onwards Tragic's believe in our omnipotence assumed all the finesse and distinction of a fine art. This confidence of his is the most painful to consider now in the light of subsequent events, for his who trusted so implicitly in his own people was, to ill intents and purposes, deserted by them in his hour of need. He died, not of poisoning as we surmised, but of acute distension, with alt its attendant agony. <strong>The</strong> trouble declared itself during the night, and arthough rragic was broughtio the house, given brandy and every care no one knew to administer the injection of apomorphia"that would havc saved his life. we are told that he turned earnestly from one sympathiser to another quite plainly asking for help, but those who couli have helpei him were not there.
