t, News from Norway and Sweden I arn sitting at my computer looking out over the garden and the wonderfll autunrn coloLrrs that gradually spread across Norway as the weather gets cooler. The time has come to write a few words about Deerhounds in oul part of the world for the last newsletter of the year. The news fi'onr Sweden is of course fronr the Swedish breedshow at Tarnmsvik where Norma Sellers, IJSA, was -iudging. The show took place on the last weekerrd in July in the grounds of the Tamnrsvik Hotel. As usual the weather at Tarnmsvik was superb, in fact it was a bit foo hot. ln previous years the Deerhounds and their owners have been rather spoilt witlr our showring by large and leafy trees, so we could find shade when necessary. Wirh the ford a stone's throw away it was easy to keep the dogs cool too. We also had the bar and caf'e just beside us, but that I suppose is illelevant...This year, unfortunately, we had a ring in the rniddle of the park with no trees in sight. The dogs were vtry hot and thirsty. so we battled to keep them cool and well hydrated. The results from Tarnmsvik can be found on the Swedish Deerhound Club's homepage with pictures ofthe all class-winners and winners of the special breedshow classes too. Best bitch was Jaraluv Karaoke, best dog was Aftdoc Allister. tJntypically 4 bitches were first in the final line-up. Best in Show Tamrnsvik: Ch Jaraluv Karaoke 2. BIS Ch. Charbonnel Ballad 3.
