Strong hound not showing at his best today .One of
the few hounds with good leg length to body length
ratio. Front and rear angulation could be better,
good straight tail.

(below) Eye-catching dark dog very full of hirnself
on the move to the detriment of his tail carriage.
Dark eye strong top line good balanced angulation.
Strength for size.
Looking more
mature than2, reasonable head but his eye colour
caught my eye. Strong neck into adequate
shoulder but would prefer longer upper arm and
foreleg. For me his hind angulation and croup
was better than 2 plus he moved with more purpose

Lordswell. Better eye than l and better leg to
body length but not quite the angulation of I
especially in rear good tail, moved soundly but
not with the animation of lst.
3rd Cox's Dufault Zodiac
2nd. Poole's Gentom Loyalty at Brockfield Very
different type and longer coat than I plerity of hind
angulation
3rd Cox's Dufault Zodiac Nice all round dog reasonable
head and expression eye could be better,
moved well.

first two places in this class and in time places may

Loved this dog, full of type. Correct
head and expression, good
shoulder return plus length of
upper, good fore leg length to
body length, rib cage has depth
and length, strong loin, plenty of
hind angulation and move soundly.
The more he moved, the more he
improved, His top line could be
stronger but he is 6 years. Coat in
lirll glory, sorry not to see him go further. Best Dog
2nd Janson's Cheat the Reeper Nice male but not the overall balance of L Shorter
in body length and did not move as well
Jrd. Arthur's Killoeter Barra. Darker dog, needs to deepen and could move better.

I was very pleased to be asked to judge bitches at the Deerhound Club Limited Show
on the 27th September 2003.
'fhere
were some lovely bitches to go over and I was pleased with my winners and
placings. However I did notice some poor hind quarters, lacking in bone, too high on
the hock and moving very close. Not what is expected of a breed that was bred to run
uphill, over rough terrain. There was also a lack of coat. A few exhibits had been
over stripped and some coats were actually broken. The breed standard does ask for
three to four inches ofcoat. I hope that fashion in the show ring does not prevail over
the desired coat lensth.

lst. Girling's Pyefleet Polkadot. A l I and lt\,
lurlf month old, dark crisp coated bitch with a
vcry houndy outline. Longish face, ofcorrect
proportions. Nicely arched neck of good length
rcuching into well laid shoulders. Cood length
ovcr loin. Nicely let down hocks, and compact
ll'ct. Cood true mover. One to watch.
