While I was in California, an English friend of mine who lives about an hour or so from the shows, came to stay the weekend with me in the hotel, and we managed to squeeze in visits to some local wineries and to the Danish town of Solvang. Solvang is a bit touristy, but we had a lovely day out; we shopped, took photos, and of course drank some very nice California wines! lt was a long flight to California from the Washington DC area, but well worth the trip Nearer home: In September we travelled up to Finger Lakes Region of New York State to attend the Wine Country circuit of shows (Anyone notice a trend here??) | drove the motor home packed full of dogs, and Ned brought the minivan, also full of dogs, and we set up camp in Romulus State Park where the shows are held, right on the lure coursing field This is very handy for the coursing on Saturday and Sunday but is a very long way from the rings, so it took quite a bit of juggling to get up and down to the rings with several Deerhounds, including two six month old pups who acted like mountain goats on leashes, and several whippets At least we didn't have torrential rain like last year, but maybe we will rethink our entries for next year. Anyway, on with the results for these shows Friday 9/26. Eastern Regional Specialty. Judge Jan Buchanan BB: Ch. Pyefleet Nonesuch (Bowman/Heidenreich) BOS: Ch.
