Oedipus means "Swell-foot". The boy was found and reared by Polybus. Later Oedipus
killed Laius for slaying one of his horses on a narrow path. (The piercing of the ankles
means the maiming of the heel and refers to the
lame smith or Demiurge. The heel sign of Scorpio is ruled by Mars, who also rules the
