and signals, were operated apart from the Army. Tables of supply and material,
as laid down in the Operational HQ, differed fron Wehrnacht tables for simi­
lar troops, and distinguished the Waffen-SS divisions for their superior
equipment and hi h morale. Thus the Operational HQ served as a separate plan­
ning staff for a separate brench of the Arned forces which camn under Wehr­
macht Jurisdiction only for specific tactical employment. Fuhrungahauptamt
(FHA) remained the operational IIQ for the rest of the SS and for this purpose
included the Command HC of the Allgeneine SS in Amt I of A.tsgruppe a (Offie*
I of Division A). The FHA, thus, h s been described, quite accurately, as
the SS Eain 0 fice responsible for the Organization, training, and within
limits set for units of the F.'affen-SS by the OKVi or OKH, the operational
employment of the Allgenreine SS and Waffen SS.
