Casualties Office) According to a decree of RFSS dated
June 1940, this branch of RuSHA was responsible for
the caro of children whose fathers had been killed in
the war, and of their mothers. The Sammelstelle had
the responsibility, in cooperation with the SS Cberabsch«
nitte, of investigating the economic circumstances of the
dependents of fallen SS men. In cases where the state
pension and allowances were insufficient, immediate
assistance was to be granted. It is possible, however, in
view of the overlapping- nature of the work and the close
bonnection between RuSHA and HPVA, that this branch was
