4.7 Volume of Incoming Calls and Dispatched Calls by PSAP
The following table documents the individually reported number of incoming
calls and dispatched calls for Police, Fire and EMS for three years -- 2008, 2009
and 2010. It is important to mention that most likely the total number of
incoming calls per PSAP is much higher than the actual dispatch calls.
Note: Many communities reported that call volumes were not easy to document,
as their current CAD systems did not report such data. In an effort to analyze
the accuracy of Call Count Volumes, data was gathered from AT&T and is
included in the Appendix of this document.
