Segment inFoRmAtion (Cont’D) (b) geographical segments: The Group operates in three principal geographical areas in the world. In Malaysia, its home country, the Group’s areas of operation are principally installation of pipelines and facilities, offshore oil and gas drilling services and provision of marine services to the oil and gas industry. Other operations in Malaysia include investment holding and provision of management services. The Group also operates in other countries in the Asia Pacific region: (i) Singapore -provision of geotechnical and geophysical services to the oil and gas industry. (ii) Australia -development of marine technology and marine chartering, specialising on ROVs. Unallocated items comprise mainly corporate assets, liabilities and expenses. Segment revenue, expenses and results include transfers between business segments. These transfers are eliminated on consolidation.
