the 5 existing dedicated vessels equipped<br />

to conduct geophysical site surveys, soil<br />

investigation campaigns and hydrographic<br />

surveys, among many others. The division<br />

also has a number of multi-purpose<br />

offshore support vessels, workboats<br />

and work barges to perform a variety of<br />

offshore and subsea operations. These<br />

vessels are ably supported by a growing<br />

number of saturated and air diving systems<br />

and a fleet of Remote Operated Vehicles<br />

(ROVs) that have the flexibility to be<br />

configured to differing work scopes and<br />

situations.<br />

In Malaysia, Marine Services division<br />

completed a 5-year contract valued at<br />

RM150.0 million for EMEPMI’s topside<br />

maintenance programme for its facilities<br />

offshore Peninsular Malaysia. Among<br />

the overseas projects, a 2-year hookup<br />

and commissioning project worth<br />

RM88.0 million was completed for<br />

Conocophillip’s facilities in the North<br />

Belud field, offshore Indonesia. In India,<br />

the division provided construction support<br />

services under a RM57.0 million contract<br />

awarded by Allseas, a major offshore<br />

installation contractor, in addition to the<br />

RM250 million platform refurbishment<br />

project for ONGC. Offshore Australia, ROV<br />

services were provided to a consortium<br />

of companies led by the Royal Dutch Shell<br />

Group under RM42.0 million contract.<br />

Marine Services has several ongoing<br />

projects in Malaysia, Myanmar,<br />

Madagascar and Australia. In Malaysia,<br />

the division has 3 contracts worth<br />

RM928.0 million to provide hook-up<br />

and commissioning, diving and soil<br />

investigation services to various PSCs.<br />

In Myanmar, soil investigation work is<br />

ongoing under RM14.0 million contract<br />

with PTTEP International. The division<br />

has also been awarded a RM7.0 million<br />

contract by Canadian company, Niko<br />

Resources Ltd, to undertake geophysical<br />

surveys offshore Madagascar. In offshore<br />

Australia, in addition to the current RM42.0<br />

million contract, the division has recently<br />

secured another contract worth RM90.0<br />

million from Chevron Australia Pty Ltd for<br />

provision of ROV services.<br />

Operations And Maintenance (O&M)<br />

The Group’s O&M Division activities are<br />

mainly carried out by Sapura Power<br />

Services Sdn Bhd (SPS), Malaysian<br />

Advanced Refurbishment Services Sdn<br />

Bhd (MARS) and Sapura Retail Solutions<br />

Sdn Bhd (SRS). SPS has established itself<br />

as a provider of gas turbine services,<br />

while MARS specialises in the repair<br />

and refurbishment of gas turbines and<br />

its components. SRS provides retail<br />

automation system and IT services for<br />

petrol stations.<br />

During the year, MARS continued to make<br />

headway in the overseas market, with<br />

contracts secured from power generation<br />

companies in India (NTPC Jhanor and NTPC<br />

Dadri) and Indonesia (PJB Gresik).<br />
