8.5 Arrival in <strong>Estonia</strong><br />

EVERYDAY NECESSITIES<br />

You can come to <strong>Estonia</strong> by plane, bus, train, ferry, car, and from Finland even by helicopter.<br />

There are direct flights between many European cities and Tallinn Airport. The best plane<br />

connections are with Helsinki, Copenhagen and stockholm, with several flights going every<br />

day. <strong>Estonia</strong>’s national carrier, <strong>Estonia</strong>n Air, is affiliated to sAs. Many other airlines also<br />

operate in Tallinn.<br />

Tallinn Airport is located 4 kilometres from the centre of Tallinn. You can get to the centre by<br />

taxi or also using public bus transport. The bus stop is right in front of the airport, at the exit<br />

door of the arrivals area. Normal bus fare in Tallinn costs 15 EEk if you by the ticket from the<br />

bus driver and 10 EEk if you buy it from a kiosk. The taxi fare from the airport to the centre is<br />

quite affordable, costing (in spring 2007) under 110 EEk. In order to avoid misunderstanding,<br />

clarify the approximate taxi fare to the destination in advance and ask for receipt.<br />
