your Allah is one Allah. So stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness. And woe to those who join
gods with Allah."
To those reading this response who really want to get the full impact and definitive commentary on this
topic, please find a quiet place and take 30 minutes to think while reading Sura 6, the Cattle. It says it all.
It gives you the full context and scope of Allah's argument on this topic. Read it and let your heart and
mind tell you if Allah supports the idea of being thought of as a man or human being.
Sura 6:103 states clearly that no vision can comprehend or perceive Him, but He comprehends and
perceives all things.
Now, let me make one more reference from the Qur'an and then talk about those hadeeth where the
Prophet refers to Allah's hand, foot, etc.
Allah says in Sura 17:89, "And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of comparison,
similitude, parable: yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude!" This, and
many verses, tell us that you will find parables, comparisons in the Qur'an and that the purpose of these
parables, similitudes, comparisons is to explain things to men and women.
If Allah uses parables and comparisons to teach, isn't it reasonable to recognize that His prophet would
use parables and comparisons to try and teach the people also? That is common sense, isn't it?
When the Prophet tells his people that Allah will hold all of the heavens and the earth in His right hand,
do you really think he is talking about Allah's human right hand? Do you really believe that Prophet
Muhammad is suggesting that Allah's hand is a human hand like Master Fard's or his own and that He
will use it to hold the skies and the earth? Isn't it more reasonable and intelligent to reason that he is
making a parable to give the people an idea of the vastness and greatness and bigness of Allah, whom they
cannot grasp with their vision? We can't see the bigness of Allah, so the prophet gives us a parable in
terms the uneducated Arabs could understand.
Doesn't that explanation make more sense than trying to figure out how a human being standing on a
corner in Detroit or Chicago is going to grow his hand so that it can hold the sky and earth while he is
standing on the corner? Maybe he has to levitate into outer space and then grow his hand to hold the
earth and sky. Which understanding makes better sense?
With respect to the prophet never referencing a G-d who you can't see. There is the well known report of
the story of the incident when the angel Jibril questioned the prophet on his religion in front of his
companions. I retell a portion of it below and I bring your attention to the last sentence:
"One day we were sitting in the company of Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) when there appeared
before us a man dressed in pure white clothes, his hair extraordinarily black. There were no signs of travel
on him. None amongst us recognized him. At last he sat with the Apostle (peace be upon him) He knelt
before him placed his palms on his thighs and said: Muhammad, inform me about al-Islam. The
Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Al-Islam implies that you testify that there is no god but
Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakat, observe the
fast of Ramadan, and perform pilgrimage to the (House) if you are solvent enough (to bear the expense of)
the journey. He (the inquirer) said: You have told the truth. He (Umar ibn al-Khattab) said: It amazed us
that he would put the question and then he would himself verify the truth. He (the inquirer) said: Inform
me about Iman (faith). He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you affirm your faith in Allah, in His angels,
in His Books, in His Apostles, in the Day of Judgment, and you affirm your faith in the Divine Decree
