marched <strong>in</strong> 1757 for <strong>the</strong> relief <strong>of</strong> Fort William Henry, and probably saw o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

service; settled <strong>in</strong> Hardwick, but removed to Lyman (now Monroe), N. H.,<br />

abt. 1771, to take charge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> lands <strong>of</strong> Col. John Hurd, <strong>of</strong> Haverhill. No<br />

trace <strong>of</strong> him is found after 1789, except a tradition that he d. at abt. 90, not<br />

far from 1806.<br />
