was educated <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> district schools and High School <strong>of</strong> Elyria, Ohio, and graduated<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Commercial School <strong>of</strong> Poughkeepsie, N. Y., <strong>in</strong> 1865. He <strong>the</strong>n<br />

taught school <strong>in</strong> Ohio and Wiscons<strong>in</strong> and subsequently went <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>surance<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> Cleveland, <strong>in</strong> 1867, and has been thus engaged up to <strong>the</strong> present<br />

day, hav<strong>in</strong>g built up by close attention to bus<strong>in</strong>ess, strict <strong>in</strong>tegrity and honorable<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess methods, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> largest and most important <strong>in</strong>surance agencies<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> State. He has been <strong>the</strong> State Agent for The National Life Insurance<br />

Company <strong>of</strong> Vermont smce 1879.<br />

Mr. <strong>Olmsted</strong> is a Director and Treasurer <strong>of</strong> The National Safe and Lock<br />

Company <strong>of</strong> Cleveland, is a Director <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Central National Bank, Director<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Woodland Avenue Sav<strong>in</strong>gs and Trust Company, Director <strong>in</strong> The Land<br />

Title and Abstract Company, and a Member <strong>of</strong> The Chamber <strong>of</strong> Commerce.<br />

President National Land Co., Director National Life Insurance Company <strong>of</strong><br />

Montpelier, Vt., Director and Treasurer Union Sav<strong>in</strong>gs & Loan Co., Director<br />

<strong>of</strong> Cleveland Homeopathic Medical College. In politics he is a Republican.<br />

Mr. <strong>Olmsted</strong> is a member <strong>of</strong> The Union Club and prom<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>in</strong> civic and<br />

bus<strong>in</strong>ess affairs <strong>of</strong> Cleveland,<br />

Was educated at Leroy (N. Y.) Academy. He moved to Des Mo<strong>in</strong>es, Iowa,<br />

<strong>in</strong> 1876. Member <strong>of</strong> firm <strong>of</strong> " Bentley & <strong>Olmsted</strong> " Shoe Mfg., <strong>in</strong> 1884. President<br />

<strong>of</strong> St. Charles Sav<strong>in</strong>gs Bank, Vice-Pres. First National Bank <strong>of</strong> Prairie City,<br />

Iowa. Director <strong>of</strong> Central State Bank, Central Trust Co., M<strong>in</strong>burn Sav<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

Bank, and Waterbury Chemical Co., all <strong>of</strong> Des Mo<strong>in</strong>es, Iowa. Pres. <strong>of</strong> Des<br />

Mo<strong>in</strong>es City Library.<br />

Born Aug. 12, 1877; m. Sept. 30, 1902, Alice Hay; b. Jan. 6, 1880;<br />

dau. <strong>of</strong> (Hon.) John and Clara (Stone) Hay, <strong>of</strong> Wash<strong>in</strong>gton, D. C. Mr.<br />

John Hay was Secretary <strong>of</strong> State <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Cab<strong>in</strong>et <strong>of</strong> President Roosevelt.<br />

Mr. Wadsworth received his early education at St. Mark's School at<br />

Southborough, Mass.; grad. Yale, 1898; Member <strong>of</strong> Delta Kappa Epsilon and<br />

"Skull &Bones" fraternities. Private <strong>in</strong> Battery A., Penn. Light Artillery m<br />

Spanish-<strong>America</strong>n War. Elected to New York State Assembly from Liv<strong>in</strong>gston<br />

County, 1904; re-elected 1905; Speaker <strong>of</strong> Assembly 1906-07; was nom<strong>in</strong>ated<br />

for Speaker without opposition <strong>in</strong> 1907. Candidate for Governor <strong>of</strong><br />

New York State on Republican ticket, 1912.<br />

WILLARD H. OLMSTED<br />

Willard H. <strong>Olmsted</strong> was educated <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> common schools and <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> High<br />

School at Auburn, N. Y. Studied law <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> latter city and was admitted to<br />

practice at <strong>the</strong> Bar on April 10, 1880, his first partner <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> law bus<strong>in</strong>ess be<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Peter A. Hendrick, at present Justice <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Supreme Court <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> State <strong>of</strong><br />

New York. A penchant for newspaper work took him <strong>in</strong>to journalism, and
