Laboratory Geotechnical Testing 6.13 Geotechnical related testing was carried out on 4 samples of the natural soils to determine their physical characteristics and comprised the following: • Plasticity index, liquid limit and plastic limit. • Natural moisture content. • Chemical testing to assist in concrete design. 6.14 The results of the geotechnical analysis is provided in Appendix D. 11562 12 Paisley Aldi Stores Ltd March 2013
7 RESULTS OF THE INVESTIGATION Soil Profile 7.1 Detailed descriptions of the materials encountered together with observations of groundwater behaviour, the results of insitu testing and sampling information are given on the exploratory hole records included as Appendix B, and the locations of the holes are shown on Figure 2. 7.2 The site has been divided into three discrete areas; north western part (former reservoir), proposed store footprint and remaining areas with the generalised succession of the ground profile presented for each area below. However, there is some local variation across the site and reference should also be made to individual exploratory hole records.
