3.23. The following shall not be paid extra and the tendered rates shall be inclusive of these:-
∗ Site clearance such as clearing of shrubs bush wood under growth and small trees not
exceeding 254mm to 305mm in girth measured at height of 900mm above ground.
∗ Setting out work profile layout etc.
∗ Unauthorized battering or benching or excavation of foundation trenchers.
∗ Forming of laying Tell-Tele or witness in borrows pits and their removal after
measurement However, deduction will be made in quantity of each work for these.
∗ Excavation for inserting of planking and shuttering.
∗ Forming (or leaving)step in sides of deep excavation and their removal after
∗ Bailing out rain water and surface water along with consequential desalting in the case
the excavated foundation trenches were filled upto these during entire period of
contraction.
∗ Removing slips on falls in extenuation
∗ Fraction and/or establishing Yard site Store site office etc.

3.24. The contractor may use his own machinery for the completion of work within the time
stipulated in the contract the carriage of machinery to different sites under this contract from one
place to another for this work will be the responsibility of the contractor and all expenses in this
regard will be born by him.
3.25. Other machinery like asphalt mixer, tar boiler, pump vibrator, concrete mixer etc. if available in
the stores of the concern division may be issued to the contractor on his written requisition hire
or free of cost as the case may be on the terms quoted in his tender covers. This hire charges, if
applicable along with its called expense as detailed below in sub paras 3.26.1 to 3.26.10 which
are to be by the departmental machinery, the condition laid down in sub paras 3.26.1 to 3.26.10
will apply into departmental road roller issued to contractor.
3.25.1. Hire charges of road roller has been indicated in para 1.15 of NIT. Hire charges of other
machineries will be communicated on and the same shall have to be accepted by the
contractors.
3.25.2. Carriage and running charges of machineries if any including on incidental and
contingent charges for transporting the same from place of delivery to the work site
and their return to the place of issue shall be borne by the contractor on his own cost.
3.25.3. Salary of roller driver, khalasi, operator of other machineries will be borne by the
contractor. The period spent in its transport from place of issue to work site and back
shall also be for their purpose, it will be responsibility of the contractor to obtain
necessary information regarding salary of the departmental staff.
3.25.4. The cost of fuel and lubricants for running the machinery will be borne by the
contractor.
3.25.5. The plants and machineries issued on hire or free of cost to the contractor the department
will have to be maintained properly daily in addition to its general daily maintenance
and in case of roller it shall also cleaned in a week & stores required for cleaning i.e.
Kerosene oil, soap, jute, grease, Mobil, etc. will have to be supplied by the contractor
at his own cost. Mobil oil will have to change after 200 (Two hundred) of running
hours, C. oil shall be changed after 1000 (One thousand) of running hour at his own
cost. The quality of all the materials supplied by the contractor will have to be
approved by the E/I before use.
3.25.6. During the operator period the machinery is on work with the contractor all minor
repairs or break down costing up to Rs. 100/- at a time will be responsibility of the
contractor and such be completed within maximum period of 3 days under intimation
to concerned J.E, SDO, EE.
3.25.7. In case the contractor fails to supply the required fuel, lubricants & other stores required
for running and proper maintenance of departmental machineries & proper or free of
cost to the contractor for using the same shall be supplied by the department, its full
