Pre-Installation
Use of the ERASE INPUT and ERASE EOF keys will cause the deletion of prefilled blanks
in the data item field where the cursor is positioned. This will cause data item length
errors when transmitted.
Configuration Information
IBM 3270 terminals and controllers must support and be configured for 1920-character
displays. Line configuration should be set for BISYNC line protocol.
IBM 3270 terminals must be defined in the Network as type IBM3270 devices as the
terminal type cannot be determined dynamically.
SOURCE NDL II IBM 3270 BISYNC algorithm and editor are required. The COMS UTILITY
Station definition for 3270 devices must have a TRANCODE position value of 7.
Library Operation Description
The library system /1/3270 is automatically generated for each system, and is called when
needed for both input and output messages for an IBM 3270-type terminal.
On input, all cursor and field address information is stripped off and the length adjusted. If
a PF or PA key is used, a keyed response is generated. On output, a Unisys terminal
output response is converted to the equivalent response for an IBM 3270-type terminal.
