4.3.5 FABRICATION OF PLATFORMS / BRACINGS/ G.I.GRATINGS:
4.3.5.1 Fabrication of bracings, built up sections, platforms, handrails, stairways and
ladders from rolled steel section, plates, flats, pipes etc, as per drawings and
specifications. The fabricated structures shall be given primer, intermediate
and finish paints including surface preparation as per painting specifications.
4.3.5.2 The Contractor shall make a detailed study at site the extent of Bracings,
platforms at different elevations (connected with Convection Section, Stack),
and are required to be cut out / dismantle to free the Convection Section /
stack dismantling. The contractor shall newly fabricate these Plat forms,
hand railings and Bracings etc.
4.3.5.3 The connected Ladders/Stairs at different elevations shall be fabricated. All
the platforms shall be fabricated to the maximum size modules with hand
railings etc. and transported to site, keeping in view the constraints at site for
erection.
4.3.5.4 GRATINGS
Procurement, fabrication and erection of hot dip galvanized gratings along
with GI support clamps as per EIL standards no:7-68-0581 Rev.2 (Type II)
4.4 DISMANTLING AND ERECTION:
4.4.1 Dismantling works:
4.4.1.1. Dismantling of existing stacks in single / two pieces. The existing stack
shall be dismantled and placed on the ground. If required the same is to be
cut in to 3 or 4 pieces and the same are to be transported to HPCL storage
area and un-loaded as directed by HPCL engineer-in-charge. In the event
of delay of new stack dampers, the clause on 4.3.3.1 to be followed.
4.4.1.2 Dismantling of the existing Convection Section .The existing Convection
Section shall be dismantled and placed on ground. If required the same is
to be cut in to 3 or 4 pieces as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. The
Existing Convection Section shall be transported to HPCL storage area and
unloaded as directed by Engineer-in-charge. Chipping of refractories inside
heaters to expose the metal for facilitating the cutting operation to be
carried out. Good engineering practices to be followed for scaffolding,
welding, dismantling and lowering of equipments / piping / stacks.
4.4.1.3 Dismantling of Associated Platforms / Bracings / Piping work / ducting:
Dismantling of structural platforms, staircase and ladders etc. connected to
equipments is a part of scope and to be segregated items wise as per the
directions of the job engineer.
4.4.1.4 Dismantling includes cutting of the steel work/ removal of bolts/ nuts/cut out
