Quhilk day in p’ins of the Counsell Comperit David Tindell, Collector of the Crafts of the said<br />

burt assisted wt the haill Deackynis yrof – And expresit and declarit, that it was n’ces yair<br />

earnest Sut and desyre,That Sir Alexander Wedderburn of Blacknes Knicht yr Clerk sould be<br />

Repintit to his place of the clerkship of the said Burgh; Qlk desyre, the provost Baillies and<br />

C’sell of the said burt fund Reassonable and thairfoir, they all in ane voice unanimoslie with<br />

consent of the said Collector Deacons of Crafts of the said Burgh, and of Thos Wichtune<br />

Not’y :- but placid Clerk, of ye Burgh – hes repentit and by these pr’snts Repones the Said<br />

Sir Alexander Wedderburn yr Clerk &c &c.<br />

Vigisimo primo Januarie 1651<br />

An Missive letter sent from the King his (Ma’) written with his awen hand, dated at Perth the<br />

17Januarie instant :- q’rin he desired, the Re-establishment of the Clerk to his place:<br />

The Counsall his thoght fitt the letter be layed up and preserved.<br />

Die Vigisimo Sexto Mensis Maii 1651<br />

The Qulk day in p’ns of the co’sell: the Kings (Ma) l’re was producit. Dated 20 Instant desiring<br />

that p’ntly, they would send their Towns Companies of Sogeris to Burntiland, sufficiently<br />

providet with Amunition, poulter Ball; theor to attend upon the public Service, upon the Towns<br />

expence the first of July next, until the Shyris relieved ym.<br />

--In obed’ce qrof the C’sall for better fordarance of ye Service, hes orderet, yat yr sall be<br />

pr’ntly upliftet, aff the Inhabitants of the burt; Two Months Maintenance to be distrubuted<br />

Amongis the said co’pany and yr outrick, Viz to ilk soger daily …………Sh for his<br />

mantenance, and that the said Copany sall pr’ntlie March, & ordains the Drum to Mack<br />

intimatun throw the Towne heirof.<br />

Act Appointing Wm Crawford Clerk to the Kirk Session; Ordaining all the Causualities<br />

formerlie given by private parties, from Baptisms, Marriages or from delinquents, and<br />

utherways due be that waye.<br />

An Order to the Council by the Commissioners of Parliament of the Common Wealth of<br />

England; Authorising and appointing ym According to their former Rites and Customs, to<br />

Nominate and Chouse their Magistrates and Officers, For the governm’t of the town and<br />

Burgh, and Liberties yrof: till further orders. The contents of the Oath to be taken by the<br />

Magistrates and Officer, and everie burgis and Friman that has admission &c &c &c –<br />

subscryvet at St Johne – Ri Dene – Albert Juckbune; R Salivay.<br />

Vigisimo quarto Junii 1652<br />

The Council Collector and Deacons of Crafts, hath Agreed, that Mr Thos Pirsonne & Mr Alex<br />

Mylne, be listed that one of these be chosen to be our Minister, to Supply Mr John<br />

Duncanson.<br />

25 t October 1652<br />

The Co’sell – Collector and Deacons of Crafts have agr’d – that Mr Thos Peirsonne Minister<br />

of Forfar, and Mr Harrie Auchinleck Minister at Maynes, be lited that ane of these be chosen<br />

to be Minister to Supply Mr John Duncansonnes place.<br />
