Implementation and Evaluation - Selected Results<br />

Raising the students’ awareness of <strong>European</strong> issues, especially for the future of Europe<br />

65% of participants reported that the session had helped them to become aware of the active role they can play<br />

in <strong>European</strong> society and 15% that it hadn’t. 88% felt they gained a better understanding of current political<br />

developments in Europe while 6% didn’t.<br />

Promoting <strong>European</strong> understanding and intercultural dialogue<br />

83% of respondents agreed that intercultural dialogue, <strong>European</strong> cooperation and equal opportunities for all had<br />

been promoted during this session, while 3% disagreed. For 91% of participants, this session helped to improve<br />

knowledge and understanding of different cultures. No respondents disagreed.<br />

Promoting active democratic citizenship<br />

77% of participants were more willing to become active citizens while 9% weren’t. 94% would go on to share<br />

the experiences gained in Leuven with those in their home towns, while 1% said they wouldn’t.<br />
