Raising the students’ awareness for <strong>European</strong> issues, especially for the future of Europe<br />

71% of participants reported that the session had helped them to become aware of the active role they can play<br />

in <strong>European</strong> society and 13% that it hadn’t. 82% felt they gained a better understanding of current political<br />

developments in Europe while 12% didn’t.<br />

Promoting <strong>European</strong> understanding and intercultural dialogue<br />

88% of participants felt the session made them aware of the diversity of cultures, thoughts, opinions and orientations<br />

in Europe while 5% didn’t. 89% reported having gained a better knowledge and understanding of different<br />

cultures while 3% didn’t.<br />

Promoting active democratic citizenship<br />

77% of participants were more willing to become active citizens while 9% weren’t. 91% would go on to share<br />

the experiences gained in Helsinki with those in their home towns, while 4% said they wouldn’t.<br />
