Wednesday, 10th June, 1953, accompanied by a<br />

deposit of £4 3s. 9d. All applications received on<br />

or before that date will be treated as having been<br />

received on the closing day, and in the event of<br />

there being more applications than one received,<br />

the application to be granted will be decided by<br />

the Land Board.<br />

Special Conditions.<br />

The maximum area allowed to be selected by<br />

any one person is limited to 2,500 acres.<br />

The selector or his agent must take up residence<br />

within one year from the date of approval and<br />

make it his habitual residence for the following<br />

five years.<br />

After the first year the selector shall clear, cultivate<br />

and lay down in pastures one-tenth of the<br />

area each year for the next succeeding four years,<br />

such clearing, cultivation and pastures shall be<br />

properly maintained.<br />

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that<br />

the Plantagenet locations listed in the Schedule<br />

hereto have been set apart for the purpose of<br />

Special Settlement, pursuant to the provisions of<br />

Part V (Divisions 1 and 4) of the Land Act, 1933-<br />

1950, and subject to the regulations under the said<br />

Act as modified by the special conditions set out<br />

hereunder.<br />

Such land is available for selection, subject to<br />

survey, classification, pricing and the provision of<br />

any necessary roads. Applications should be lodged<br />

at the Department of Lands and Surveys, Perth, on<br />

or before Wednesday, 27th May, 1953, accompanied<br />

by a deposit as shown in the Schedule.<br />

All applications received on or before that date<br />

will be treated as having been received on the<br />

closing day, and in the event of there being more<br />

applications than one for either location, the<br />

application to be granted will be decided by the<br />

Land Board.<br />

Special Conditions.<br />

Applications are limited to areas not exceeding<br />

800 acres in all, with a maximum area of 500<br />

adres of cultivable land suitable for establishing<br />

pasture.<br />

One-fifth of the cultivable area must be<br />

cleared within three years and two-fifths within<br />

five years from date of inception of the lease. Such<br />

clearing must be at a stage sufficient to establish<br />

pasture.<br />

Nine-tenths of the cleared area must be<br />

sown to pasture with superphosphate within 15<br />

months of clearing.<br />

IT is hereby notified, for general information, that<br />

the lands described in the Schedule hereto have<br />

been set apart for the purposes of Special Settlement,<br />

pursuant to the provisions of section 84 of<br />

the Land Act, 1933-1950.<br />

Such lands are available for selection under<br />

Part V (Divisions 1 and 4) of the said Act and<br />

the regulations thereunder, subject to survey, timber<br />

conditions, classification, pricing and to the<br />

special conditions enumerated hereunder.<br />

All applications must be lodged at the Department<br />

of Lands and Surveys, Perth, on or before<br />

Wednesday, 10th June, 1953, together with a<br />

deposit of £8 lOs.<br />

The provisions of section 135 of the Land<br />

Act, 1933-1950, relating to determination of simultaneous<br />

applications by a Land Board shall apply.<br />

The selector will be required to pay the price<br />

of the land, together with prescribed survey fees,<br />

with interest on such survey fees, by half-yearly<br />

payments over a period of 30 years.<br />

The selector shall, within five years of the<br />

date of commencement of the term of his lease,<br />

take up residence in person on the land comprised<br />

therein, and shall make it his usual home without<br />

any other habitual residence for the next ensuing<br />

five years of the term, and failing compliance with<br />

these conditions, the lease shall be liable to forfeiture.<br />

The lessee will be required to clear one-fifth<br />

of the area within two years of the granting of<br />

the lease and an additional two-fifths before the<br />

expiration of five years.<br />

The cleared area shall be sown down to pasture<br />

or developed for other agricultural purposes<br />

within two years of the completion of the clearing<br />

operations.<br />

Applications for leases may be approved subject<br />

to approval of survey, and to the provisions of<br />

such roads and reserves as the Minister may deem<br />

necessary.<br />

No person shall be granted or hold more than<br />

one of the blocks specified, and no transfer of a<br />

lease will be allowed without the special approval<br />

of the Minister.<br />

After approval of an application, the selector<br />

will be issued with a conditional purchase lease,<br />

under the provisions of sections 47 and 86 of the<br />

Land Act, 1933-1950, subject to the foregoing<br />

modifications.<br />
