BERGLIND: My voice was so fragile but the ideas
were very experimental and forward and when
I listen to it today I´m very happy, it still sounds
very fresh. Then I did a debut concert and it was
so crazy, totally packed house, full of people and I
was the girl that was too shy to sing in front of the
studio guy. I remember I really thought I would die.
I was hyperventilating back stage hahaha then I went
on stage and it was like I never had done anything
else. I felt so real there and I shared all my stress and
fear with the people and then I would just sing and
dance like it was my home. It was 1997 and my first
album. It was called “Fiskur nr.1” ( fish nr.1 ) because
I was always in love with boys in the fish sign.
KALTBLUT: The people love it when you sing in a
club. The energy is then so positive. Which is your
most memorable gig you can remember?
BERGLIND: Uff this is a tough one I think my USA
tour in whole is super memorable, we did 12 gigs in
12 nights in 12 cities. It was crazy driving all day
and playing every night, Ii would often give up and
then I always found the power and joy to do it. The
woman crying on here knees holding my hand, singing
“I´m on fire” with me, was a very beautiful moment,
the amazing kids in Colombus that blew my
mind with their love and enthusiasm. also the show I
did in New York few years ago for 3 people. And
the show where I made the song “Gangsterrapper”,
which we improvised outside an artist squat in Berlin
few years ago and we were so lucky somebody
filmed it so we have the song today... on and on
endless stories..
If I think about it more my show on my birthday
2010 was very memorable when I released my cd
“Friends save the day”.
KALTBLUT: Is there any artist in the music world
you would die for to work with?
BERGLIND: Actually I always work on a very personal
level with people that are my friends and I love
and there is a lot of trust. And I work with everyone
I wanna work with. There is one noise guy, Ernst
Markus Stein, I would love to work with because I think
he´s a genius and I love him a lot and he has been a
huge influence on me. We did some shows together
and I think we have good energy when it comes to
art. We will see how the future arranges that. I also
would love to work more with my main man Kristjan
Zaklynsky, we done a lot of dance music together.
I´m also planning on working on a song with the girls
from Scream Club, Berlin based band, so yes I think
in the end all my dreams of collaboration come true
because they come from friendship, love and party...
I would love to mix all these kids together and make
some experimental mix of disco noise.
KALTBLUT: You told me some days ago a new video
is on the way? Right? Can you tell us something
about the video?
BERGLIND: I´m so excited about this video. I´m
making it with a very good friend, Melkorka Huldudottir,
we have worked on a lot of art together and
videos before. In the team with us is Fiona Cribben
, fashion designer, they are both Iceland based. We
loved working together and we´ll do more videos for
sure. They are super passionate and are putting a lot
of nice work into it and I feel so blessed to have so
amazing people working with me. It is to the song
“Moogoo” which is the story of the shepherd called
out wolf wolf because he was lonely and all the villagers
come running to save him, but he´s lying.
