Jan Joswig
Jan Joswig is not only a true
Berlin hero, he’s also a genuine
gentleman and has a virtue most of
us tend to forget, that is class.
He has collaborated with most of
the important magazines from Berlin,
De:Bug, Muzikexpress, Zitty,
Fraulein. He writes weekly online
columns for musikexpress.de and
Nokia owned website Jan, casually
ruling the city.
What was your first esthetic schock?
When 7 years old I was rolling down a green hill and
ditched into dog shit with the back of my head.
I immediately was sure dog shit will never make it as a
hat fashion.
Did you have an important teacher?
I would have loved to have a mentor from the older
generation but I was always too blind to realize,
shame on me.
Do you feel that there was an evolution in
your creativity or inspiration?
Everytime I look back and become aware, hey, what
you’re doing now is exactly what you would have
hated to do 10 years ago, then I know there is some
evolution.
What’s on your desk at the moment?
Some scribbles about how to drive a motorbike and
not look like a guy in his midlife crisis.
Where is your favorite place to listen to
music?
At home. I put some wheels under my arm chair so
I can stroll through my room while listening to some
good old 90s R&B. Better than driving in a lowrider
through LA.
