Back in <strong>the</strong> house, his disciples questioned him again about this and said to him:<br />
DISCIPLES.<br />
If that is how things are between a man and his wife, it's not a good idea to get married.<br />
JESUS.<br />
It's not everyone who can accept what I've said, but only to those whom it's been given. For <strong>the</strong>re are some eunuchs who were born<br />
that way from <strong>the</strong>ir mo<strong>the</strong>r's womb. And <strong>the</strong>re are some eunuchs made so by men and <strong>the</strong>re are eunuchs who have made <strong>the</strong>mselves<br />
eunuchs for <strong>the</strong> sake <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Kingdom <strong>of</strong> Heaven. <strong>The</strong> person who is able to accept this, let him accept it.<br />

NARRATOR.<br />
People were even bringing little children to him so that he would touch <strong>the</strong>m and lay his hands on <strong>the</strong>m, and say a prayer. But when<br />
<strong>the</strong> disciples saw this, <strong>the</strong>y reprimanded <strong>the</strong>m and sent <strong>the</strong>m away. But when <strong>Jesus</strong> saw this, he was indignant and called <strong>the</strong> children<br />
to him and said to <strong>the</strong> disciples:<br />
JESUS.<br />
Let <strong>the</strong> little children alone, and don't stop <strong>the</strong>m from coming to me. For it is to such as <strong>the</strong>se that <strong>the</strong> Kingdom <strong>of</strong> God belongs. I tell<br />
you most sincerely, anyone who does not welcome <strong>the</strong> Kingdom <strong>of</strong> God as a little child will never enter it.<br />
NARRATOR.<br />
He <strong>the</strong>n laid his hands on <strong>the</strong>m, gave <strong>the</strong>m his blessing and went on his way.<br />

As he set out and was on <strong>the</strong> road a man, a member <strong>of</strong> one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> leading families ran up to him, knelt before him and asked this<br />
question:<br />
YOUNG MAN.<br />
Good Master, what must I do to possess and inherit eternal life?<br />
JESUS.<br />
Why do you call me good? <strong>The</strong>re is no one good except one and that one is God alone. But if you desire to enter into life, keep <strong>the</strong><br />
commandments.<br />
YOUNG MAN.<br />
Which?<br />
JESUS.<br />
You know <strong>the</strong> commandments: You must not kill; you must not commit adultery; you must not steal; you must not bring false<br />
witness, you must not defraud; honor your fa<strong>the</strong>r and mo<strong>the</strong>r; and, you must love your neighbor as yourself.<br />
YOUNG MAN.<br />
I have kept all <strong>the</strong>se from my youth until now. What more do I need to do?'<br />
NARRATOR.<br />
When <strong>Jesus</strong> heard this, he looked steadily at him and loved him:<br />
JESUS.<br />
