NARRATOR.<br />
While he was still speaking to <strong>the</strong> people, his mo<strong>the</strong>r and bro<strong>the</strong>rs came looking for him. On <strong>the</strong>ir arrival <strong>the</strong>y were unable to get to<br />
him because <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> crowd. Standing outside, <strong>the</strong>y sent a message to him asking to see him. One <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> people in <strong>the</strong> crowd that was<br />
sitting around him said to <strong>Jesus</strong>:<br />
PERSON IN THE CROWD.<br />
Your mo<strong>the</strong>r and bro<strong>the</strong>rs are outside and <strong>the</strong>y want to talk to you.<br />
NARRATOR.<br />
He looked around at <strong>the</strong> people who were ga<strong>the</strong>red about him and stretching his hand out towards his disciples he said:<br />
JESUS.<br />
Behold, my mo<strong>the</strong>r and my bro<strong>the</strong>rs. My mo<strong>the</strong>r and my bro<strong>the</strong>rs are <strong>the</strong>se which hear <strong>the</strong> word <strong>of</strong> God and do it. Anyone, who will<br />
do <strong>the</strong> will <strong>of</strong> my Fa<strong>the</strong>r who is in heaven, this same one is my bro<strong>the</strong>r and my sister and mo<strong>the</strong>r.<br />

NARRATOR.<br />
<strong>The</strong> same day, <strong>Jesus</strong> left <strong>the</strong> house and sat by <strong>the</strong> lake side and again, he began to teach <strong>the</strong>re. A large crowd was ga<strong>the</strong>ring and people<br />
from every city were finding <strong>the</strong>re way to Him. But such a great number <strong>of</strong> people ga<strong>the</strong>red around Him, that he got into a boat that<br />
was on <strong>the</strong> lake and sat <strong>the</strong>re. <strong>The</strong> whole crowd stood on <strong>the</strong> shore by <strong>the</strong> waters edge and he taught <strong>the</strong>m many things in parables. In<br />
<strong>the</strong> course <strong>of</strong> his teaching he said to <strong>the</strong>m:<br />
JESUS.<br />
Listen! A sower went out to sow his seed and it occurred that as he sowed, some seed fell by <strong>the</strong> side <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> path and it was trampled<br />
on and <strong>the</strong> birds <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> air came and ate it up. Some seed fell on rocky ground, where <strong>the</strong>re was no depth <strong>of</strong> earth and not much soil.<br />
<strong>The</strong> seed immediately started to sprout. When <strong>the</strong> sun came up, <strong>the</strong> seed was scorched and wi<strong>the</strong>red away because it lacked moisture<br />
having no root. Some fell among thorns and <strong>the</strong> thorns sprang up with <strong>the</strong> seed and choked <strong>the</strong>m and <strong>the</strong> seed yielded no fruit. But<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r seeds fell on good soil and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased and brought forth some hundred fold, some sixty fold,<br />
some thirty fold.<br />
NARRATOR.<br />
When he had said <strong>the</strong>se things he cried:<br />
JESUS.<br />
Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.<br />
NARRATOR.<br />
When he was alone, <strong>the</strong> Twelve along with <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs who were about him in his entourage came to him and asked:<br />
DISCIPLES.<br />
Why do you speak to <strong>the</strong>m in parables? ...What does this parable mean?<br />
JESUS.<br />
