12. Students are not allowed to bring refrigerators or freezers onto <strong>College</strong> premises without<br />

first gaining permission from their Tutor. An application form for this permission can be<br />

requested from the Tutorial Office.<br />

This permission will be only granted on medical/religious grounds. The refrigerator must<br />

comply with current Health & Safety legislation and may only be kept in the student’s<br />

bedroom during his or her periods <strong>of</strong> residence. Failure to remove the fridge at the end <strong>of</strong><br />

the academic year will result in a fine <strong>of</strong> £100.<br />

13. Junior Members are not permitted to sublet their rooms.<br />

Staying in <strong>College</strong> outside the period <strong>of</strong> Residence<br />

14. Students on 29 week rental agreements will normally be <strong>of</strong>fered “standard” quality<br />

accommodation. Only in exceptional circumstances will it be possible for the student to<br />

remain in their term time room.<br />

15. Students who book their residence in advance in accordance with point 3 below will be<br />

charged at the rate for standard rooms for the period booked, irrespective <strong>of</strong> the<br />

accommodation allocated, unless it is agreed in advance that a higher grade <strong>of</strong> room will<br />

be provided, in which case the rate for that room will apply.<br />

16. Pre-booking will be by way <strong>of</strong> the exeat form. Subsequent advance bookings or<br />

cancellations may be made by email to Domestic.Office@fitz.cam.ac.uk. Cancellation<br />

<strong>of</strong> bookings will be accepted up to 48 hours in advance. (Note: if a student wishes to<br />

cancel a booking whilst in residence e.g. because they wish to leave earlier than<br />

intended, then 48 hours notice is still required, during which period rent will be<br />

charged).<br />

17. The <strong>College</strong> is unable to guarantee availability <strong>of</strong> accommodation for students who do not<br />

book. W<strong>here</strong> it is possible to provide accommodation it will be charged at a fixed rate<br />

based upon the highest rate for single en suite accommodation in <strong>College</strong>. This will apply<br />

irrespective <strong>of</strong> the standard <strong>of</strong> accommodation occupied and during all vacations.<br />

18. Undergraduates in their 3 rd or 4 th year on 29 week contracts who pre-book accommodation<br />

in <strong>College</strong> (via the exeat form) during the final two weeks <strong>of</strong> the Easter vacation will be<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered a £30 per week discount. This discount will be calculated pro rata to the number <strong>of</strong><br />

nights pre-booked and will only be <strong>of</strong>fered once per student (i.e. either in the 3 rd or 4 th<br />

year <strong>of</strong> study).<br />
