As one of the most photographed<br />

women in the world, with over 350<br />

magazine covers in her portfolio,<br />

Caprice could have carried on the<br />

pampered life of the supermodel.<br />

Instead, she chose to make the brave<br />

move into the world of business and<br />

set herself up for a steep learning<br />

curve. By her own admission, Caprice<br />

knew little about business, but her<br />

Californian optimism was enough to<br />

convince her that the transition would<br />

be a success.<br />

Aware that her modelling days were<br />

limited when she reached her 30s,<br />

Caprice partnered with Debenhams<br />

in 2001 to launch her own lingerie<br />

collection, which she designed and<br />

modelled. It was a hit and the UK<br />

press soon hailed Caprice as ‘Queen<br />

of the Undieworld.’ Five years later,<br />

with the best part of a quarter of<br />

a million in the bank from photoshoots,<br />

fronting campaigns, West End<br />

productions and various TV shows,<br />

Caprice didn’t really need to work,<br />

but she used her money to establish<br />

By Caprice Lingerie. She hoped to<br />

create a brand and a company that<br />

she could pass on to her future family<br />

and most importantly doing what she<br />

loves to do best: making ladies feel<br />

empowered, sexy and feminine by<br />

wearing her brand. She says that, “I<br />

have organized numerous fit sessions<br />

with my customers and I love the way<br />

That is a reward in itself and makes<br />

these constant 12-hour days worth<br />

As she fully finances, designs,<br />

models and markets her own hugely<br />

successful line, Caprice has created<br />

the success of By Caprice Lingerie<br />

entirely on her own. It now sells on<br />

three continents and in Britain, By<br />

Caprice products are stocked by high<br />

street giants and dozens of independent<br />

retailers. <strong>The</strong> business has gone<br />

from strength to strength since it<br />

launched in 2006. ‘By Caprice Swim’<br />

launched in December 2007 and<br />

‘By Caprice Sleep’ in August 2008.<br />

In June 2010, Caprice launched<br />

By Caprice Bedding exclusive to<br />

Littlewoods.<br />
