DVB-T - the “Ubiquitous TV!”
“Ubiquitous TV” will soon be the standard throughout Germany,
whether in the bus, train or car, when camping, at sea or the highest
mountain top - DVB-T the digital system transmitted via terrestrial
antennas will soon allow us to watch the “tube” everywhere.
Current DVB-T reception area in German as of 08.2004
What is DVB-T?
“DVB-T” stands for “digital video broadcasting terrestrial” and refers
to digital TV that is transmitted via terrestrial antenna.Additional variations
are DVB via satellite (DVB-S) and via cable (DVB-C).
Clear advantages:
Digital signals are less prone to interference than their analogue “predecessor”
and provide a lossless picture and sound quality even under
difficult reception conditions such as during bad weather or in a tunnel.
What do I need for DVB-T?
- A DVB-T receiver or a set-top box (converts digital data from DVB-T
for normal (analogue) TV receivers).
- DVB-T antenna
