The 4-pin plug was introduced more than 12 years ago with
the first S-VHS, the High 8 devices respectively. The video signal
is transmitted separately (Y/C), a further definition for
this mode of connection is “Hosiden”. With the introduction
of DVDs, digital cameras, new graphics cards etc., the term
S-Video is used for this type of connections and signals.
