HDMI

The High Definition Multimedia Interface transmits the picture
and acoustic signals as purely digital data. The very large bandwidth
also enables transmissions in HDTV standard. DVI and
HDMI use the same data transmission standard TDMS and are
therefore compatible to each other.
DVI
The Digital Visual Interface only transmits picture signals as
purely digital data, short DVI-D. Apart from digital data, an analogue
VGA signal could be transmitted as well. If the analogue
signals are integrated as well, one speaks of a DVI-I connection.
HDCP
High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection, a digital copy protection
recognized by the film industry. Only devices which have
a DVI or HDMI input which supports HDCP can then replay this
coded signal.
