SCNT is now a standard methodology in over 130 labs across 20 countries since<br />

Dolly the sheep was born in 1996. Various types <strong>of</strong> species have now been cloned<br />

using a range <strong>of</strong> foetal and adult derived donor cells <strong>of</strong> different cell types (Table 1.1).<br />

About 75% <strong>of</strong> these labs are working on livestock (cattle, pig, sheep and goat), less<br />

than 10% on mice, and the rest on at least 20 other species (Oback and Wells, 2003).<br />
