Diagnostic characters: Trilete, laevigate spore; contour somewhat triangular with convex<br />

sides and rounded corners. Trilete laesurae straight, gaping, extending twothirds<br />

the distance to the periphery. Exine two-layered, 1 pm thick; endexine thin.<br />

Measurements: 55 X 43 pm in diameter.<br />

Stratigraphic range: <strong>Middle</strong> Europe (Late Oligocene-Pliocene), Southeast Asia<br />

(Eocene) and Japan (Miocene).<br />

Germany: Late Oligocene or ? Early Miocene (borehole Bernheide); Late<br />

Oligocene (St. Augustin and Upper Bavaria); Miocene (Tessin); Late <strong>Tertiary</strong><br />

(Neubrandenburg).<br />

Czechoslovakia: Oligo-Miocene (South Bohemia).<br />

Hungary: Miocene-Pliocene (Eger, F6t, Piispokhatvan, Papa, Litke,<br />

N6gnidszakcil, Szokolya, Hida, Als6vadcisz, Megyasz6).<br />

Japan: Miocene (Iki).<br />

Indonesia: Eocene (Yogyakarta-Java) .<br />

Remarks: The specimens belonging to Leiotriletes maxoides Kr. minoris Kr. differ<br />

from L. maxoides Kr. maximus (Pf.)<br />

form <strong>of</strong> the Y-mark and thickness <strong>of</strong> the exine.<br />

Botanical affinity: Schizaeaceae, Lygodium.<br />

Kr. and L. maxoides Kr. maxoides in size,<br />

Genus Deltoidospora Miner 1935 ex R. Potonie 1956.<br />

Type species: Deltoidospora hallii Miner 1935.<br />

Description: Trilete spore; equatorial contour triangular with more or less de1toide<br />

corners and more or less concave sides. Exospore smooth, two-layered, 1. 5 pm<br />

thick; endexine thinner than ectexine. Trilete 1aesurae straight, gaping, extending<br />

two-thirds the distance to the equatorial corners.
