Description: Monoporate pollen grain. Figura oval. Exine laevigate, 0.5 f-lm thick.<br />

Pore small, 2.3 f-lm in diameter, without annulus.<br />

Measurements: 12 X 9 f-lm in diameter.<br />

Remarks: The only specimen observed is unusually small and has a pore without annulus.<br />

Botanical affinity: Gramineae.<br />

Description: Monoporate pollen grain. Figura spheroidal. Exine chagrenate, thin.<br />

Pore circular, 4 f-lm in diameter; a feeble annulus is developed.<br />

Measurements: 25 X 21 f-lm in diameter.<br />

Remarks: The only specimen observed differs from G. laevigatus and G. oligocaenus<br />

in both a larger pore and a narrower annulus.<br />

Botanical affinity: Gramineae.<br />

Genus Echigraminidites Krutzsch 1970.<br />

Type species: Echigraminidites moravicus Krutzsch 1970.<br />

Description: Monoporate pollen <strong>of</strong> oval shape. Exine thin with a loose echinate<br />

sculpture; spines: 3 -3.5 f-lm long and 2.5 f-lm wide. Pore small, 3 f-lm in diameter,<br />

with conspicuous annulus.<br />

Measurements: 25 X 21 f-lm in diameter.<br />

Remarks: The only specimen observed is similar to Echigraminidites moravicus Kr.<br />

from the Early Pliocene <strong>of</strong> Hodonin, CSSR, but differs in its larger spines.<br />

Botanical affinity: Unknown.<br />
